Difference between Jaw Crusher and Hammer Crusher

Release Date: 2017-01-11 Click times: 103 Edited by: admin

Both jaw crusher and hammer crusher are widely applied in mining, metallurgy, construction, road and bridge industries. Most users are concerned about how to make selection between them. Today we are going to compare jaw stone crusher and hammer stone crusher in the aspect of performance for customers reference.
Jaw Crusher

Jaw Crusher
The jaw or toggle crusher includes fixed jaw vertically set in the front wall and a swing jaw, which forms a crushing chamber with large upper part and small lower part. The swing jaw repeatedly moves back and forth relative to stationary jaw while the material being crushed through squeeze, bending and cleavage.
1. With simple structure, the jaw crusher can be easily maintained. It is generally applied for primary or secondary crushing in the gravel production line.
2. The vertical motion of jaw crusher is relatively large, which facilitates the discharge of sticky and wet material.
3. Since the jaw crusher crushes the material through simple squeezing, the crushed materials are in irregular shape. It is necessary to further process them for better grain shape.
4. There is half idle motion during operation of jaw crusher, so it consumes large dynamic energy.
Hammer Crusher

Hammer Crusher
Hammer is the core part of hammer stone crusher. During the operation, the hammers strike materials in a high speed so as to complete crushing process. The cavity of new hammer crusher is installed with impact plates in different angles. Through crushing, the qualified finished material will be discharged though the gap of adjustable lining plate.
1. Although in a single machine of hammer crusher, the materials will go through multi-crushing. Featured by high efficiency and large size reduction ratio, the hammer crusher produces materials with uniform and cubic particle sizes. There is little over grinding ruing the operation.
2. The materials are crushed through hitting & impacting of hammers and impact plates and mutual striking themselves. It consumes less dynamic energy and reduces abrasion of wear parts.
3. The materials with large hardness will cause more abrasion to the hammers and liners of hammer crusher, so it is generally applied to crush the materials with middle hardness.
4. In case the unbreakable metal, such as steel bar and iron is mixed in the material, the accident may easily occur in the production.
