Stone crusher is the most important equipment in stone production line. Different in the structure and operation principle, the stone crushers are divided into jaw crusher, hammer crusher, impact crusher, cone crusher and roller crusher for various applications. Each type of crusher has own advantages and disadvantages as introduced below:

Gravel Production Line

Jaw crusher: as coarse crushing equipment featured by large capacity and size reduction ratio, jaw crusher is suitable for soft-to-hard materials. However, since it crushes the materials by squeezing method, there are a lot of flakes in the finished materials. Over-grinding may easily occur in the operation. Jaw crusher is not suitable for flaky materials. The shaping machine is also required for secondary crushing In the stone production line.

Hammer crusher is featured by large capacity, easy maintenance, and sound shape of finished materials. Since its hammers can be easily worn after striking the materials for long time, the hammer crusher is generally applied to crush the materials with medium hardness, like limestone and bluestone. It is strictly prohibited to feed metal, iron and other hard materials into the crushing chamber.

Featured by low energy consumption and sound shape of finished materials, the impact crusher can be applied for various materials just like jaw crusher. Its shortcomings lie in small capacity and uneasy maintenance out of complexed structure. Besides, due to small feed size, it is only suitable for secondary crushing.

Cone crusher generally has large size and complexed structure. Although with good quality of finished materials and large capacity, it occupies large area and is difficult to be moved and repaired. Normally it is applied in large gravel or mill production line.

Roller crusher has small range of applications compared with other crushing equipment. It is mainly suitable for the viscous materials. By producing fine materials with small capacity, it is mainly used in the stage ahead of grinding.

With knowledge of pros and cons of each type of crusher, it is easier for us to select the most suitable crusher for various materials. Meanwhile, with progress and scientific technology and crushing industry, the stone crusher will be further improved and upgraded to bring more production benefit for the users.
