Gravel and crushed stone are the construction stone material, then how are they manufactured and what are the advantages and disadvantages of them?

1. Material shape

gravel

Gravel: gravel material is produced after the long-term water rushing and the wind blasting with the rounding shape such as cobble.

Crushed stone: crushed stone is the material with the natural material crushed by the mining crusher for the demanded material of more than 4.75mm with coarse and cubic material shape.

2. Contrast resource

crushed stone

Gravel is from the river bank and bed and the material can be used into the construction directly without crushing but washing by sand washer machines.

Crushed stone is crushed by the mining crusher machine after the blasting of stone materials from the mountain and then stone material can be used for the screen for the different shape and size crushed stones.

3. Contrast of performance

Gravel hardness will be reduced with long-term water rushing and the surface will be smoother and less clogging condition. The data shows that gravel material have higher So2 content and larger material density and less energy consumption.

Crushed stone will have higher material strength and cubic material shape but easy-clogging. The test shows that compared with the gravel material, the crushed stone will have 10% higher advantages than the gravel material. These gravel material will ensure the stable and hardness of construction.

4. Contrast of application

stone material application

Gravel is the common material of the construction stone with the different applications. Gravel material has the smooth and fine material shape in the construction of public construction, Park Mountain, park arts, and the super construction.

Crushed stone can be used in the making of railway, highway, water conservancy, and the construction material of cement and concrete.
