How to Select the Appropriate AF Series Hydraulic Cone Crusher Model According to Actual Production Requirements

Selecting the right AF series hydraulic cone crusher model requires comprehensive consideration of multiple factors. The following are some key points:

I. Consideration of Raw Material Characteristics

1. Feed Size

If the maximum feed size of the raw material is relatively large, for example, exceeding 200mm, then a model like AF60 with a larger feed opening (max 265mm) may be more suitable. It can easily accept large pieces of raw materials, avoiding frequent pretreatment to reduce the raw material size, thus improving production efficiency. Conversely, if the feed size is relatively small, such as mostly between 60 - 100mm, AF36 (max 100mm) may be sufficient. And when processing smaller size raw materials, AF36 may have a better crushing effect and energy utilization efficiency.

2. Material Hardness

For materials with high hardness, such as granite and quartzite, a model with stronger crushing force needs to be selected. Generally, the larger models in the AF series usually have more powerful crushing capabilities. Because factors such as their power and crushing chamber design can better handle the crushing of high-hardness materials. For example, AF60 (power 315kW) may be more efficient than AF36 (power 132kW) in crushing granite, and it can break the high-hardness granite into the required particle size faster.

3. Material Moisture and Stickiness

Materials with high moisture or stickiness are prone to clogging in the crushing chamber. In this case, a model with a good discharge design and anti-clogging function is the preferred choice. Some AF series cone crushers may be equipped with a special uniform feeding device, which can better handle such materials, evenly distribute them in the crushing chamber, and reduce the risk of clogging. At the same time, the automatic adjustment function of some models also helps to automatically optimize the crushing parameters when encountering sticky materials to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.

II. Consideration of Production Capacity Requirements

1. Target Output

If the production scale is large and a higher throughput is required, then the model should be selected according to the required output range. Taking the production of building aggregates as an example, if 200 - 300t of limestone needs to be processed per hour, AF45 or AF60 may be more appropriate choices. The throughput of AF45 under specific screen hole sizes can reach up to 260t/h, and AF60 has an even higher throughput, which can meet the needs of large-scale production of building aggregates. However, if the output requirement is relatively low, such as an output of 70 - 150t per hour, AF36 may be sufficient.

2. Product Particle Size Requirements

Different production processes have different requirements for the final particle size of the product. If it is necessary to produce a product with a finer particle size, such as for manufacturing high-quality artificial sand, a model that can achieve effective crushing under a smaller screen hole size needs to be selected. The crushing chamber design of some AF series cone crushers is based on the laminated crushing theory, and it can still ensure a high yield and good product particle size under a smaller screen hole size. At the same time, the adjustment function of the model is also important, which can accurately adjust the screen hole size according to specific particle size requirements to ensure that the product particle size meets the production standards.

III. Consideration of Site and Budget Constraints

1. Site Space

The size of the equipment varies depending on the model. If the site space is limited, then a model with a relatively small volume needs to be selected. Compared with AF60, AF36 may have a smaller overall size and is more suitable for installation and use in a production site with limited space. When selecting a model, it is necessary to ensure that there is sufficient space for raw material conveying, product discharging, and daily maintenance and inspection after the equipment is installed.

2. Budget Cost

Different models of AF series hydraulic cone crushers have different prices. Generally, the larger the model and the more complex the function, the higher the price. When considering the budget, not only the purchase cost of the equipment but also the operating cost, including energy consumption and wear parts replacement cost, should be considered. For example, due to its higher power, AF60 has relatively higher energy consumption, while AF36 has a lower power and may have a relatively lower operating cost. Enterprises need to select the model with the highest cost performance according to their financial situation and return on investment.
